Eleven films for eight halls.
Films and animations for the Álmok Álmodói 2.0 exhibition at Millenáris: four animated inventor stories, five public-health pioneer films, a dome projection film and a film of the finished halls, produced with ACRI.
The challenge
Álmok Álmodói 2.0 tells the stories of Hungarian inventors to visitors under 25, the audience the strategy had singled out as the one the first exhibition lost. Wall text would not hold them. The stories had to move.
The approach
The films were produced in collaboration with ACRI. Four animated films carry the big inventions: the transformer of Bláthy, Déri and Zipernowsky, the pioneers of alternating current, Bíró László and the ballpoint pen, and the cheap krypton bulb. Each runs between 73 and 121 seconds, drawn in flat colour against the streets, factories and offices of its decade.
Five shorter character films introduce the public-health pioneers Fodor József, Johan Béla, Korányi Frigyes and Okolicsányi-Kuthy Dezső, and the Védőnői Szolgálat, the health-visitor service, as animated presenters with their own captions, for the medicine hall.
For the building itself: a dome projection film that takes the room into orbit, and a film of the finished halls with the animations playing on their stations.
